Preparing your finances for divorce is important. I always suggest women contemplating divorce make a list of all real estate, investments, bank accounts, stocks, etc... acquired during marriage. And, if possible, copy the last month's statements for these investments in preparation for divorce. This will help you know what funds and assets you will be working with post-divorce and allow your attorney to advise you on the distribution of assets.
