Paul Nathan is a fifth generation San Franciscan. He attended Stuart Hall for Boys middle school and later the University of San Francisco. Later, he attended and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law.

While in law school, Paul worked at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. There, he worked on both defense teams for the two only cases brought against Kosovar Albanians.

Paul practices general civil litigation and criminal defense.
